The Stables Family of Tickhill
The Tickhill branch of the Stables Family started around 1812, when Michael Stables, the son of William & Sara Stables of Barnburgh married Hannah Ellis of Tickhill (the sister of his uncle John's wife, Margaret) and they settled in Tickhill shortly after the birth of their first child, James.
James Stables (b.1810, Barnburgh) married Anne Pimperton (b.1813, Tickhill) and they too remained in Tickhill.
The
photograph on the right is of Edward William Stables (1876-1951, Tickhill) who
was one of their descendents.
