Newspaper Articles featuring Stables Family Members

This is a very interesting newspaper article taken from the Barnsley Chronicle that describes the wedding of Elizabeth Lawson (née Podmore) and Harry Royston that took place at Darfield on November 8th, 1905. Mrs George Stables (Mary Stables, b.1873 Barnsley, wife of George Henry Stables, b.1866 Darfield) is included in the guest list and she bought the happy couple a pair of sideboard covers.

This article was transcribed by Gill, at, and it is with her kind permission that I reproduce it here.

The article will also be very interesting to anyone researching the surname Podmore and several of the Podmores mentioned in the article can be seen in the family portrait on my main Darfield page.
