Sam Stables (b. 1858 Brampton Bierlow)

Sam was the son of Charles Stables (1830-1891), of Wath, and his wife Mary Ann Stephenson.

The Will of Sam Stables - Dated 1893

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me SAM STABLES of Parkgate near Rotherham in the County of York Innkeeper I devise & bequeath all my real & personal estate unto my wife Henrietta Stables absolutely I appoint my said wife sole EXECUTRIX of this my will & I revoke all prior wills IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand this second day of August one thousand eight hundred & ninety three

On the 13th day of October 1926 Probate of this will was granted to Henrietta Stables the sole Executrix.

The Will of Sam Stables's Wife, Henrietta Gould - Dated 1937

THIS IS THE LAST WILL & TESTAMENT of me HENRIETTA STABLES of 5 Grove Avenue York Road Doncaster in the County of York widow
1. I hereby revoke all former Wills & testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me & declare this to be my last will as follows
2. I appoint my nephew Sam Bartholomew Nellie Bartholomew his wife & Hilda Hampshire of 5 Grove Avenue York Road Doncaster aforesaid widow (hereinafter called "my trustees") to be the executors & trustees of this my Will for all purposes hereof & for the purposes of the Settled Land Acts
3. I give & bequeath free of duty my wearing apparel (except my sable fur) & the sum of ten pounds to my sister in law Lilian Maud Gould
4. I devise my freehold property situate at & numbered 81 83 85 & 87 Rotherham Road Parkgate in the said County of York unto my trustees upon trust to permit the said Sam Bartholomew & his said wife Nellie Bartholomew & the survivor of them to receive & enjoy the rents profits & income to accrue therefrom during their his or her lifetime they he or she paying thereout all rates taxes assessments duties impositions & other outgoings & interest on mortgage (if any) arising on the said property at the time of my decease & keeping the property in good & tenantable repair & condition & insured against fire to the full value thereof & on the decease of the survivor of the said Sam Bartholomew & his said wife Nellie Bartholomew upon trust subject to any mortgage debt then subsisting thereon for the child or children of the said Sam Bartholomew & Nellie Bartholomew who shall then be living & if more than one in equal shares
5. Subject to the payment of my just debts funeral & testamentary expenses & death & other duties including the duty on any legacy hereby or by any codicil hereto bequeathed which shall be paid primarily out of my personal estate I give devise & bequeath all the rest residue & remainder of my estate & effects of whatsoever nature & wheresoever situate unto my trustees in trust for the said Hilda Hampshire absolutely
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty fourth day of December one thousand nine hundred & thirty seven
